Loving attended Citrus College (2016) and UC Berkeley (2019). She majored in Ethnic Studies with a minor focus on Race & the Law. Loving organized in leadership positions including Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) Senator, California Community Colleges Board of Trustees Student Trustee, and Citrus College Student Trustee. Loving founded UC Berkeley’s Transgender Student Wellness Initiative (2017), ASUC Police Oversight Commission (2017), and the Together We Thrive Scholarship Fund (2017). Today, Loving is Co-Executive Director at GSA Network, a next-gen organization supporting trans, queer, and two-spirit young people in devising liberation and freedom. Before joining leadership, Loving began her activism in high school starting her GSA club. After graduating, she joined GSA Network staff as the Trans Youth Justice Organizer leading the newly-seeded TRUTH Project in 2015. As a long-term partnership between GSA Network and Transgender Law Center, TRUTH evolved from a storytelling campaign into what is now Gender Justice Leadership Programs.
Passionate about learning and teaching, Gia travels nationwide to be in conversation with others, moving toward a liberated tomorrow. This takes form in workshops, keynote addresses, and panels for wisdom-sharing at universities, conferences, and community meet-ups. She has been invited to speak at some of the following gatherings: 6th Annual Carolina Conference on Queer Youth (UNC Charlotte), Alameda County Behavioral Health LGBTQ Youth Conference (Oakland), LGBT Leader's Victory Fund Conference (Las Vegas), Mama Scholars Symposium, Mothering in Academia (San Diego State), Presente Conference (UC Riverside).
